Loosen Up Your Beltway: This Week’s Political Gems

Kids say the darndest things.

President Obama stopped by College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center in Decatur, GA in an effort to promote his early childhood education agenda.

The President had a little fun with his young fans.

Via the White House Pool Report:

“Mr. Obama walked over to the first group of kids who were playing with blocks, and asked, ‘Can I help?’

The children greeted him and asked him to play with them. During the photo-op, one of the boys asked “Are you our teacher?” Another boy said, “Welcome, Mr. President.” and another child said, “I saw you on TV.”

[A]t the first table, two boys eventually became engrossed in a video screen with their backs to the president and were encouraged by a teacher to rejoin the president of the United States.”

Earlier that same day, The President reinforced his State Of The  Union agenda during a speech at the Decatur Recreation Center near Atlanta, “I propose working with states like Georgia to make high-quality preschool available to every child in America, every child in America.”

Presidential LOVE advice

The President hosted a Google Hangout on Valentine’s Day when a frustrated wife needed some Presidential power to set her husband straight. The woman’s husband was refusing to celebrate the holiday. Obama gave some simple, yet useful, advice:  “If mama’s happy, everybody’s happy.”

So, yes, the things we learned about Marco Rubio:

1) He has a drinking problem.

2) He may or may not have eaten a bag of pretzels just before his SOTU rebuttal.

3) He suffers from a severe case of cotton mouth.

4) He likes tiny bottles of water (which could explain why he’s always thirsty.)

Likely scenario: he was really really nervous he’d join the laughing stock ranks of Bobby Jindal’s 2009 SOTU rebuttal:

Or even better, Michelle Bachmann who missed every instruction to look directly INTO the camera in 2011:
